Should you wish to read this response, a copy is held in the school office.  The School Association will be following this up and will keep you informed.

Dear Parents,

As you know Mrs Thom has been on sick leave since November and I have been informed today that she intends to resign from her post as Head Teacher at Loirston School with effect from 31st August 2008.

The local authority has begun the process of finding her replacement.

Mrs Thom has been Head Teacher here since 2001 and I am sure you will join with me in wishing her a long and happy retirement.  If you wish to contribute towards a leaving gift to mark her service to the school please send your donation in a marked envelope to school before the end of term.

Loirston Avenue

COVE BAY

30th May 2008

Dear Parents,

SCHOOL SPORTS

The annual sports will take place on the dates outlined below.  The format will be non-competitive, as in previous years, as this ensures that all children, regardless of ability, are fully involved throughout the event and this year it is also a key activity as part of our health week programme.  In addition there will be a competitive year group sprint for Primary 4-7 pupils.   Heats will be run off and the finals will be on sports day.

NURSERY SPORTS

Information relating to this will be issued separately.

P4 – P7 SPORTS planned for the afternoon of MONDAY 16th JUNE with MONDAY 23rd  June being the wet weather alternative.  The sports will start at 1.30 p.m.

P1 – P3 SPORTS planned for the morning of MONDAY 16th JUNE with MONDAY 23rd June being an alternative should the weather be inclement.  The sports will start at 11 a.m.

Pupils will be allocated a team prior to the day and should come prepared with warm sweatshirt, jogging bottoms worn over shorts and T-shirts.  Trainers should be worn.  On the reverse of this letter is guidance regarding weather conditions.

Finally, in order to run the sports we require more adults than we have staff. Primary 7 pupils will act as marshals for P1-3 and you can just come and watch!  However, HELP IS  needed for P4-7 sports.  If you would be willing to help at the P4-7 sports, please complete and return the attached slip by Friday 6th June.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
