			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following the success of the School Christmas Fayre, Primary 4 have decided to extend their &#8216;Guess the Santa&#8217; competition.  Please feel free to have a look through the pictures below and, if you wish to enter, note the member of staff name next to the numbers 1 &#8211; 24(in the order that they appear on the slideshow) on a piece of paper.  Hand this into the school office with the £1.00 entry fee before Friday 11th December. The winner will be announced at the Informal Concert at the end of term.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are aware that there is concern amongst some parents regarding a “Stranger Danger” incident at the school this week. We would like to put your minds at rest. It was fully investigated by ourselves and the police and that on this occasion it was found to be a misunderstanding and there are absolutely no grounds for concern with regard to this incident. </p>
<p>We would commend the pupils involved that they acted absolutely correctly and reported their concern to us immediately. At the school we will continue to raise awareness about the importance of how to keep safe especially as we move into the darker evenings. We would welcome your support in continuing to encourage the messages about safe behaviour.</p>

<p>The children would like to invite you to see their Christmas Nativity, ‘The Sleepy Shepherd’.  The children have all worked very hard and look forward to performing for you.</p>
<p>We expect demand for seats to be high, so two performances have been scheduled for -</p>
<p>Monday 7th December at 2 p.m.<br />
and<br />
Tuesday 8th December at 9.30 a.m.</p>
<p>Because our school hall has a restricted seating capacity, tickets will be issued to keep a check on numbers.</p>
<p>If you would like the children to help you get in the Christmas spirit, please return the reply slip indicating your preferred day and number of tickets required.  Unfortunately a maximum of three tickets only can be issued per family initially, any spares will be then issued on a ‘first come first served’ basis.</p>
<p>Although there is no charge for the tickets, a collection will be taken. </p>
<p>The children are asked to design tickets this year.  Because it is such a busy time it is difficult to hear reading as often as usual so I ask that you bear with us.</p>
<p>Dressing the children prior to each performance is usually a race against time.  If you would like to help your child’s class in this area please let the class teacher know by indicating on the return slip.</p>
<p>I hope you will be able to attend and that you enjoy the performance.</p>

We made posters to go around the school to ask all the children to bring in pennies. Philip&#8217;s dad took a poster to his work and collected 778 pennies! We measured the width and length of the hall and weighed the pennies. We think we made around 70 pounds.  We still have to count. </p>

                Shoe Box Appeal<br />
                This year we have decided to have a shoe box<br />
                 appeal within the school in order to help<br />
                 children in Kosovo.  A separate note will be<br />
                 issued with further information with regard to<br />
                 this.</p>
<p>               Christmas Fayre<br />
               This year our Christmas Fayre will take place<br />
                From 10.00am  to 12.30pm on the 28th November.<br />
               Classes are making lots of different things to<br />
                Sell on stalls along with a host of other stalls.<br />
                We really hope you can come along and look<br />

<p>               City Wardens<br />
               As you may have seen we have local<br />
               wardens operating in the Cove Area.  Their<br />
               role is to provide a highly visible, reassuring<br />
               presence and tackle the problems that matter<br />
               most to the people of the Cove. Their  duties<br />
               cover a wide range of issues including; litter,<br />
               dog fouling, graffit, fly tipping and nuisance<br />
               parking (including school areas)  They also<br />
               work in close partnership with other agencies<br />
               such as the police and fire service.  Should you<br />

<p>               Pink Day<br />
               From our Pink Day we raised a very impressive<br />
               £484.21  A huge thank you to all for their very<br />
               generous contributions. </p>
<p>               Bikes<br />
            I have spoken to the children in assembly with<br />
              Regard to this and would appreciate your<br />
              Support with this matter.  In order to promote<br />
              Health and safety children are asked to wear a<br />
              Helmet whilst cycling and dismount their bike<br />
              When the enter the playground.  There are a lot<br />
              Of children in the playground and I would hate<br />
              for their to be an accident. </p>
<p>Cold Weather<br />
Now that the weather is becoming noticeably colder I would encourage all children to be arriving at school suitably dressed.  Please remember to label jackets etc.</p>
<p>Standards &#038; Quality Report<br />
Each year the school produces this document in order to review the school’s progress over the last session and identify next steps.  Should you wish to read this document a copy can be obtained from the school office.</p>
<p>Further Reminder<br />
I would like to thank all for their co-operation and offer a further reminder that dogs are not allowed on school premesis at any time.  Again this in line with Aberdeen City council policy.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It’s nearly Christmas time again and the children are busily getting organised to perform their Nativity for you.  The Nativity is on the afternoon of Monday December 7th and the morning of Tuesday December 8th, information regarding tickets to follow.</p>
<p>We would be very grateful if you could help us in the costume department.  The P1 children are asked to dress as Angels or Shepherds.  Please don’t buy costumes, white tights/trousers and a large white T-shirt plus tinsel for head will be quite adequate for angels. A dressing gown for shepherds and tea towel to cover their heads will be perfect.  Please put the costumes in a clearly labelled bag. </p>
<p>It would be really helpful if your child could bring these items into school by Monday 30th November and keep their costumes in school to allow for a couple of ‘dress rehearsals’.</p>

<p>Until I know definite numbers I can only give you an approximate price but in total it will be around £190.</p>
<p>During the trip the children will take part in many different activities including rafting, gorge walking and wall climbing.  It is a superb opportunity which gives children a chance to try out a range of activities whilst encouraging them to develop skills in confidence and teamwork.</p>
