Our morning Nursery Classes will be going to Satrosphere Science Centre on Wednesday 23^rd September to attend a “Science Day” which has been specifically tailored for the 3 – 5 age group. This should prove both informative and entertaining for the children.

They will leave at 9.15 am, (so please have your child at nursery by 9.00 am), and travel by coach to Satrosphere and return to nursery at approximately 11.30 am.

A snack, which will be eaten at Satrosphere, will be provided by Nursery staff.

This trip is being funded by Satrophere and Aberdeen City Council therefore we are not asking for a contribution towards the trip.

  We are looking for adult helpers for the trip so if you are available please indicate this on tear off portion of the permission slip which will be given to the children.

Insurance position for pupils – Parents should be aware of details contained in the School Information Booklet which states that pupils are not covered by Council insurance for injury, damage to property or personal loss unless negligence can be proved.  If parents wish to take out personal cover for their children at very reasonable cost (which covers them for 24 hours of every day in the year) they can contact the Headteacher who has information available.

The Nursery party is on Monday 15^th December.  Children should arrive slightly later at 9.15 a.m. for a 9.30 a.m. start.

Santa will make his grand entrance at 10.45 a.m. and you are welcome to come into the school hall to see your child collect their gift.  A donation for the gifts has been kindly provided by our Parent Council.

Food for the party is bought with your snack money.

The children would also like to help you get into the Christmas spirit by joining them for a “sing-a-long”.

You are invited to come into Nursery at 10.45 a.m. on Wednesday 17^th December.

The Nursery session will end at the normal time.  The Nursery doors will be open for your arrival and we hope a glass of wine and a mince pie will help loosen up your vocal cords.

We would like to remind you that the nursery Christmas parties are on Monday 17^th December.  Morning children should arrive at 9.15 a.m. in order to allow staff time to prepare the nursery.  You are welcome to join us in the hall at 11.00 as we hope a special visitor might surprise us!

The times for the afternoon children are 1.45 p.m. for arrival and 2.30 p.m. for the special visitor.

The sing-along will take place on Wednesday 19^th at 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. as previously stated.

We have started a blog for the Nursery that will be available at the blog address below.http://loirstonnurseries.edublogs.org/ The main purpose of a blog is to give the children a wider audience for their work and to allow the audience to leave feedback in the form of comments. It also gives parents the opportunity to view their children’s work.The nursery blog will allow parents to view photographs of work and activities that the children are involved in and will be updated regularly.While we will be bearing in mind the importance of Internet Safety, we will post photographs and videos of children undertaking activities.  Please let me know if you do not wish your child to appear in any photographs on the new blog.                                          Mrs Campbell-Morgan-ICT Co-ordinator
