Loirston School Christmas Bulletin Nov 2015

Dear Parent/Carers
What a busy term it feels like already. The purpose of this bulletin is to make sure you are furnished with all the dates for upcoming events leading up to the festive season. More information will follow on each event over the coming weeks.

Children in Need Friday 13th November – Primary Seven pupils will be working hard this week to organise a range of activities to have in the hall on Friday morning. These include: face painting, nail painting, beat the goalie, basketball, guess the teddy’s birthday, drawing colouring competition, pin the bandana on pudsey., decorate a cookie etc etc. Each activity will cost about 20p. We would also ask pupils to either wear something yellow, come as you please or dress up and give donation to do so. Many thanks for your support from all in P7s.
Ultimate Dodgeball 30/11/15 – Primary Seven pupils wish to raise funds and also support the British Heart Foundation by organising an Extreme Dodgeball event with all classes in the school. More information will come out regarding this from Mr Constable.
Saturday 5th December Christmas Fayre – This is an all morning event run by our Parent Council. It is a fabulous morning out with raffles and lots of stalls run by the school and Parent Council together.
Sunday 6th December Christmas Lights Switch on – This is an evening event at the Thistle Hotel in Altens for the switching on of the Community lights.
Tuesday 8th December – Nativity Performance at 2pm.
Wednesday 9th December – Nativity Performance at 9.30am
This year our Nativity is called Sugar Plum. The story goes that Sugar Plum’s wand is broken thanks to Elvin the mischievous elf. However, Sugar Plum, the Christmas Fairy soon realises that she can bring a little bit of magic into people’s lives even without it!
Thursday 10th December – Christmas Sing a Long and Christmas Jumper day. This year we have joined the two events. We would like to welcome you to the school for the morning to hear our fabulous Christmas singing and also enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and a fine treat. In association with this pupils will also be asked to wear a Christmas jumper and give a donation to Save the Children. The running order for classes etc will come out to you in the coming weeks.
Friday 11th December – Christmas Lunch – More information to follow from our cook.
Tuesday 15th December – P1 and P2 Christmas party pm
Wednesday 16th December – P3 and P4 Christmas party
Thursday 17th December – P5/6/7 Christmas Disco
More information regarding parties will follow.
Friday 18th December – School closes for Christmas at 3.15pm.
