Aberdeen Community Safety Partnership

Over the last few weeks, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service have been called to a number of fires at the Mains of Loirston Farm in Cove and the surrounding derelict buildings. Sadly it is clear that many or all of these fires were set deliberately. Appliances from all city stations are sent to deal with these fires which has an adverse impact on our resources and availability to respond to other incidents.

We want to remind people about the consequences of deliberately setting a fire and the impact that these have on the environment and the community and urge parents and carers to ensure that their own children know about and understand the potential tragic consequences that deliberate fires can have.

We shall continue to work in partnership to detect and deter fire setting but we also need your help. If you have any information about a deliberate fire please call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Fire setting is an offence. don’t accept it, report it.

We thank you in advance for you support.
