PARENT COUNCIL AGM – TUESDAY 26th AUGUST

PRESENT – Kay, Julie J, Shonagh, Norma, Rob, Karen, Gillian, Georgina, Gail, Kelly, Emma.

 The meeting opened with Kay going over the procedures concerning election of a new committee. Following this the new committee was appointed as follows –

 CHAIR           – Kelly McGrogan –   nominated by Georgina seconded by Julie.

VICE CHAIR – Gail Officer –          nominated by Kelly seconded by Georgina.

SECRETARY – Georgina Downie –  nominated by Gillian seconded by Emma.

TREASURER – Emma Kennedy –   nominated by Georgina seconded by Kelly.

 It was agreed to look through PC constitution and jobs paperwork and amend and agree – Kelly to look into this and report back at next meeting.

Loirston PC also have a Facebook page – look into admin of page and start using it to it’s full potential.

Look into PC having its own email address, again using this as much as possible. Less paper, more eco-friendly. Can communicate more with people instead of letters and texts.

P.V.G. – Kay explained what a P.V.G. is and why we need one when helping out at school. Anyone who would like to get a P.V.G. can fill out form and we can pass onto Alistair Gilmore to process – Kelly to liaise with Alistair.

PC books were not in our possession due to a family bereavement. PC books to be handed into school office on Monday 8th September for audit.

It was agreed that a float will be set up and held in school office safe so that PC will have access to petty cash to purchase items needed. Emma to put a policy in place for this.

Once the books are in school, Emma to organise for the books to be audited and checked.

It was agreed that the signatories had to be changed – Kelly and Emma to liaise with bank. The new signatories are to be Emma, Kelly and Gail.

At next meeting we could organise some aspects of Christmas Fayre – Agreed that children should write to companies on our behalf to ask for donations – Kay going to organise with children before September weekend.

The kids are going to help with artwork for Christmas Fayre at Golden Time. PC members offered to come in on Friday afternoons to start this once it has been organised.

Agreed that next meeting – do we do Christmas cards? Organise food/drink for disco and glow sticks?

Last but not least – Gail Officer did the ice bucket challenge with Torry Academy – Asked Kay if all Loirston teachers would do the same and great way to donate money for a great cause MND. Kay to liaise with staff and report back.

Date of next meeting is Tuesday 23rd September at 6.30pm.
