Dear Parents/Carers

Finally I am in a position to confirm classes for next session. This year has been particularly difficult as the school has been sitting in a position between being allocated 12 and 13 classes.  However this session the authority has allocated us 13 classes.  I would like to assure you that all staff  have worked very hard to ensure both social and academic groupings have been taken into account when allocating pupils to classes.  As you will see below the composition of classes throughout the school has changed and I would like to assure you that the reason for this is due to the current numbers of pupils in each year group. For children going into  composite classes we have sent home a booklet explaining the workings of composite classes which I hope you will find informative.

Below is a list of classes.  On the copy your child brings home their class teacher for session 2014-2015 will be highlighted for your information:

Staffing

Some names on the staffing list may seem unfamiliar to you.  Miss Cummins is a new member of staff who will be joining us in August 2014.  Mrs McPhee started with us in May and has been covering a post in Nursery up until summer.  Next session she will be working in P6/7.

Also next session Mrs Collie from Yellow 8 will be taking up a secondment within the authority.  We will miss her very much while she is away but want to wish her the best of luck with her secondment.  In order to fully support Yellow8 next session Mrs Turner will be taking up more hours and I will also be timetabled to be working in Yellow 8.

Mrs Campbell Morgan will be continuing her duties as Acting Depute. It is my intention to advertise the permanent post after the summer break.

Reminders

P7 leavers assembly will be on Thursday 3rd July at 9.45am.  We look forward to seeing our Parents/Carers for our final farewell to our Primary Sevens.

Lost Property

Next week on Tuesday am we will lay out all our lost property on tables at reception.  Please come and have a look as if it is not claimed we will dispose of it.  There is a large amount of belongings currently unclaimed.

As we approach the last week of session I would like to thank all the Parents/Carers and the community for all their support throughout this session.  I really do appreciate all that you do to support us all here at Loirston.
