Cove Rangers – Free Admission Offer

18th September 2008

Cove Rangers- Free Admission Offer

Dear Parent/Guardian

In June 2008 Primary 3 and Primary 3C attended Cove Rangers’ Allan Park for a tour of the facilities. This was linked to a class topic on their local community.

The visit was organised and lead by Jim Rust who mentioned to the pupils he was keen for them to return with their parents as his guest to a Highland League match to support Cove Rangers as the current Highland League Champions.

Jim has been in contact and I am now in a position to offer you a fantastic invitation!

Your child is entitled to one free children’s ticket and one free adult ticket for

Cove Rangers v. Rothes on Saturday 4th October 2008. Gates open at 2.40pm with the match starting at 3.00pm. Further tickets can be purchased at the gate.

This is a very generous offer from Jim Rust and Cove Rangers. In order to provide Jim with numbers requiring tickets, I would be grateful if you could complete the slip below and return it to me by Friday 26th September 2008.

I hope to see you at the match!

Mr S. Anderson

P7B Blog

Posted by loirstonconnect on 18th September 2008

    Dear Parents of Primary 7B

Over the next few weeks, we plan to introduce a blog for the class that will be available at the blog address below.

http://p7bl.edublogs.org/

The main purpose of a blog is to give the children a wider audience for their work and to allow the audience to leave feedback in the form of comments. It also gives parents the opportunity to view their children’s work.

The P7B blog will allow parents to view photographs of work and activities that the children are involved in and will be updated regularly.

While we will be bearing in mind the importance of Internet Safety, we will post photographs and videos of children undertaking activities.  Please let us know if you do not wish your child to appear in any photographs or videos on the new blog.

School Closure

Posted by loirstonconnect on 18th September 2008

Dear Parent/Carer,

There is a possibility that members of Unite, GMB and Unison will be taking strike action on Wednesday, 24th September 2008.  Staff groups that may be included include janitors, cleaners, kitchen staff, pupil support assistants and office based staff.

Following a careful risk assessment, and taking all factors into consideration, I have decided that the school will be closed to all pupils on Wednesday 24th September 2008.  As you can appreciate this has not been an easy decision to make.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Where office staff are on strike, there will inevitably be some difficulties in dealing with telephone calls and I would be most grateful therefore if you would only telephone the school in the event of an urgent emergency.

Yours sincerely,

Louise McIntosh

Wear it Pink

Posted by loirstonconnect on 18th September 2008

Dear Parents,

On Friday 10th October 2008, the staff at Loirston School intend to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign and will ‘WEAR IT PINK’ on that day.  Although this is a staff fund-raising event, any pupils who wish, may dress for the day in pink and contribute to the fund-raising (£2.00 suggested).  The actual theme as identified by the charity is DARE TO WEAR IT PINK!  Class teachers will be happy to take any donations on the day and will discuss appropriately with pupils why all members of staff are wearing pink.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
