The Support for Learning and classroom support assistant provision has yet to be finalised.

Congratulations and welcome to Loirston School to Mrs Smith, Miss Leiper and Mr. Anderson who have secured full-time permanent contracts with Aberdeen City Council.

Before the end of term, pupils will be introduced to their class teacher and shown their main teaching area.

During Term 1, the Senior Management Team wish to put the following procedures in place with regard to entering and exiting of pupils through the outside unit doors.

YELLOW UNIT

Bell rings at 9 o’clock and door opens.  Pupils have free access – i.e. no lines at this time.  The doors will be closed at 9.05 a.m.  Further entry and exit at interval and lunchtime will be made through the yellow unit doors.

BLUE UNIT

Bell rings at 9 o’clock and door opens.  Pupils in P4A, P4B, P5 and P6 will have free access and should make their way to pegs and then their class area.  Further entry and exit at interval and lunchtime will be made through the blue unit doors.

RED UNIT

Bell rings at 9 o’clock and door opens.  Pupils in P1 have their own information with regard to the start of the new term.  Pupils in P2 and P3 will line up in their classes and be collected by the class teacher outside the red unit door.  They will be escorted to pegs and class areas by class teachers.  Red unit pupils will exit for interval and lunch from the red unit.

Blue unit pupils (P2/3 and P3) will exit for interval from the blue unit.

Blue unit pupils (P2/3 and P3), home lunches, will exit from the red unit.

Blue unit pupils (P2/3 and P3), school and packed lunches will exit from the blue unit.

At the end of the day at 3.15 p.m. all Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils will exit from the red unit and be collected by parents/childminders.

The above procedures will be monitored and reviewed throughout the term.

Yours sincerely,

M. S. MCPHEE
